  • Robberies in Honduras

Pray for my aunt and uncle in Honduras. Pray for the robbers. Pray for the little children in their care.

We had a scary night again. The robbers were back Wednesday night and this time they broke into the house. They were in the little house first and made off with a great haul.  This time they wiped us out of about everything of value up there. The mess was worse then any time b-4. They also got into the trooper and tried to get the radio, and they cleaned out the freeze in the porch fridge. From here in the kitchen they only got the blender. D.R. woke up first and thought they were trying to open the kitchen door. She heard 2 loud, hard bangs and she was on the floor. When she got to the corner of the kitchen, thinking they were still outside, she found them inside and she yelled and screamed for D----. D--- hit the floor calling "What, Where?!". The robbers ran..........H--- saw them running but no one could get a good look at them. The things they got aren't what bothers me so much as the fear the children now have of going to bed, etc. Three of our friends from V. A. came Thursday evening to express their concern and asking what they can do for us. Also giving advise...........Like using the gun. Well, that is not how we feel. The Police also said to shoot to hurt then they can catch them. Do pray for us............the neighbors care and are concerned......the Hondurans don't like it that we are being targeted. We want to respond "like Jesus would".

  • The Lord is Risen! What a Happy Easter!

I love spring! I like how I'm ready for each season as it arrives. I enjoy autumn colors in their place, snow in it's place, the NEW LIFE of spring, and all the fun that summer brings... swimming, camping, VBS, etc. We haven't done a stitch in the garden yet, Dad's been focusing on the fence so that we can raise our own beef this year. We have a serious herd of deer on our property, and we don't have a dog right now so starting a garden looks pointless, but I think the fight is necessary. I guess we HAVE had dogs around here but since they are the neighbor's we can't very well count on them. The other day they both came right through the screen of the door scaring Patrick like crazy! NO DOGGIE! ......and now for my latest ramblings...
I have been enjoying the lovely spring weather...walking the trails with friends... the other day it snowed again. Like, really snowed! The ground was white one night... but by this point you don't take it very seriously...you kinda smile at it because you know that the winter can't hold on...it's gotta give way to spring and LIFE. It reminded me of a verse that was brought to my attention recently. Isaiah 14:16 speaks of the day when satan's fate will be pondered and he will be gawked at. "Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, the man who made the earth a desert, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives to home?" I had let my eyes drop from the warm, caring and guiding eyes of my Saviour to the billowing waves of life happening around me. Hardships and impossibilities. A timely message spoke volumes to me. Elijah's text was three words taken out of the book of James. "again he prayed" AGAIN - never give up! You can't live off of the miracles and experiences of the past. I had a wonderful year at SMBI, my faith in God had been increased by difficulties He had brought me through... but I need to pray, hope and trust... AGAIN. HE - God needs you. you make a difference. God uses people. PRAYED - be with HIM. Gayle Erwin would say "keep HIM in your sight" We need to follow Jesus...His example. DON'T EVER SETTLE FOR LESS.

  • Changed Continued

I've been trying to put the ramblings of my mind into words for awhile now. It's interesting because Peaceful Lady had told me that she always thinks of Hebrews 3 and 4 when she thinks of the whole belief/unbelief thing. This is exactly where I was reading in my "journey through the Bible" this year....and I thought I was behind schedule . God's timing and guidance is AMAZING! So, the writer is saying that mixing faith with what you have been told is essential to entering into God's rest. The children of Israel died at the edge of the promised land because they did not believe that God could take out the giants in the land. All that He required of them was to move forward and God would take the enemy out. Simple, right? Not so much; this would require trusting in someone other than ourselves and no one is as trustworthy as me...right? Check it out. Unbelief is sin. Who does God say that I am? What does He say about me and about my future? It matters not so much what others say, but so often we let it matter. We need to remember that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We wrestle not against our brother in the church or our spouse. Marriage and the church are types and shadows of the beautiful sacrificial love of our Lord and Satan has declared war on them both. Who are we believing? Christ bought back his people with his own blood. The battle is won, Christ has proven to be victorious over death, though not over.

About Me

  • I love my family, friends, my dear little nieces, nephews and the wonderful outdoors (especially when it's warm)...My home is Heaven, I am an ambassadress in a strange country where death and decay have invaded because of human choice. My story is the journey of a young girl lost and desperately lonely in a strange land with the innate knowledge of being created to be unique, precious and very much loved...a princess in fact. One day her Prince found her, redeemed and loved her. The rest is pretty much....history.
